Our Story
Nurturing passion

Established in 2012, The Dance Art School is dedicated to providing a warm, inclusive environment that prioritises wellbeing, motivating students to reach their full potential as both dancers and individuals.
Our Ballet classes follow the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus, while Spanish classes are guided by the Spanish Dance Society (SDS)—both global leaders in dance education.
We believe every dancer is unique. Beyond syllabus work, our open classes introduce contemporary, jazz, and stretch training, creating a safe haven for creative expression and individual growth.

Elizabeth van Schalkwyk
Artistic Director & Founder
With over 20 years of experience in classical ballet, Elizabeth has dedicated her life to the art of dance. A former principal dancer, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for nurturing young talent.
Jenni Ferris
Ballet & Pilates Instructor
The daughter of a ballet teacher, Jenni's lifelong dance journey is complemented by her expertise as a qualified Pilates instructor. She brings a holistic, fun approach to the disciplined art of ballet.
Claricia van Jaarsveld
Student Teacher
Dancing since age eight in Ballet and Spanish dance, Claricia is dedicated to ensuring every student feels confident and encouraged. She believes dance builds character, helping each dancer reach their personal best within our family.
